This is a personal website about me and aspects of my life.
You might well ask, "Why zebras?" After coming across the
meaning of the zebra as a power animal (it represents
individuality), I now understand why I have been drawn to
zebras and why it has continued to feature in my life.
Don't get me wrong, I do have many interests
other than zebras and this is the perfect
vehicle to tell you more about them and share some of my
many passions. As I put these pages together, it is
interesting how things clarify themselves when you recall
parts of your life in writing as I am now doing for my
website to share with you. I imagine the same would be true
for those writing autobiographies. It is a therapeutic
exercise and I hope you will also benefit from my efforts.

As you delve through the pages and my
thoughts, you will develop a better understanding of the
influences in my life which have helped me to become the person
I am. My blog and Twitter will also give you more insight.
One thing I am drawn to (other than zebras) are large eyes.
I have noticed this is a common feature with all the
animals I like: my horse had beautiful big brown eyes;
zebras have big brown eyes; I like cats with big eyes; my
favourite cow is the Jersey and they have gorgeous big
eyes. It is appropriate then to feature a zebra eye on my
home page! Eyes are important to me and my daughter has the
same fascination with eyes as I have. As the saying goes:
"The eyes are the mirror of the
soul"
That is the first little quirk I am aware of
and no doubt other interesting things will reveal themselves as
I continue to reflect on my life.
In terms of the design for my site, I have
opted to continue with a largely black and white theme as a
symbolic representation of zebras. The decorative images on
each page are appropriately black and white in keeping with
this theme. Purple is also my favourite colour and will crop up
when and where appropriate.
It is quite a momentous task putting
thoughts and memories into written form and some areas of my
site are taking much longer to do than I anticipated. I am
slowly working my way through the sections and
will eventually end up with a comprehensive account of my
life events and family history. Bear with me if some pages have
not been updated for some time - I will get there!
Do enjoy the areas I have completed on my
website and learning more about me and my tastes across a range
of interests.
