My Interests
As you can see, I have many
interests and they are listed alphabetically
rather than in order of preference. You will get to
know my tastes which tend to be quite broad within each
category.
Most continue to be a significant part of my
life except for horses which I have not had an opportunity to
get involved with again since the early 1980's. My love for
horses has not diminished because of this, it simply has not
been practical for me to have another horse in my life.
Further travel is the next thing I will be
working on as there are European countries related to my family
history which I have not yet had the pleasure of experiencing
for myself and I have every intention of doing so.
- Architecture
My aesthetic taste in architecture developed through my study of Art in seconday school and is certainly eclectic.
- Arts
I derive much pleasure from, and have a great interest in, all areas of the arts across the board – Art Galleries, Museums, Performing Arts, Dance and some Opera.
- Cats
Cats and kittens have been a part of my life from the time I was little. There have been a number of special cats over the years, some you will get to know here.
- Cinema
I have a soft spot for classics, avant garde, and art films. I do also enjoy historical dramas, intelligent science fiction, horror films and thrillers with believable story lines which do not solely rely on special effects.
- Comedy
What makes me laugh? Generally it is the good old British dry sense of humour. I just love the way they take the mickey out of people and situations.
- Horses
My love for horses began at a very young age and continued throughout my teens and into my early twenties with my own grey Part-Arab gelding.
- Music
My taste in music is broad and has been influenced by my parents taste to a degree, as well as the era I grew up in and from music lessons I had during my childhood and early teens.
- Poetry
I have always had a passion for poetry and literature in general. I have written a number of poems myself although there has been a large gap between writings and I have not done anything in more recent years.
- Travel
Travel is such a sensational experience and one I enjoy immensely. I have not had an opportunity to take part in this as often as I would prefer and I look forward to correcting this imbalance.
